You can upload
files directly to our E-mail account at customerservice@qualityquickprint.com.
Simply send as an attachment to your e-mail, from within your
favorite E-mail application. Make sure to compress the file(s)
before sending. Be aware that files sent as attachments are sometimes
corrupted during transmission, especially when mail is sent and
received by different applications.
We do NOT recommend
sending files over 2 MB (your ISP may not allow them) or that
need to be processed on a rush basis in this manner. For oversized
or rush jobs, please send via our FTP site.
We
recommend that you create a ".sea" file of the files
you wish to upload to us to make the process as uncomplicated
as possible. Making sure that the file(s) are compressed and also
all combined into one archive makes it the easiest to send, receive
and process.
We
have a wide range of software packages to better able us to handle
your files. We can provide proofs in a hard copy output in black
and white or color that you can visit our office to view or we
can fax them to your location. We can also e-mail you a Universal
PDF file that you view on your own computer (requires Adobe
Acrobat).
In order for
us to use your Microsoft Publisher file successfully, you must
use the Pack and Go feature found in Publisher 2000 or newer versions.
We also ask that you run the "Design Checker" found
under the "Tools" menu and fix any problems it discovers
before you bring us your file.
- To access the Pack and Go
feature, click on the "File" menu. When the
drop down menu opens click on "Pack and Go."
Then click on "Take to a commercial printing service."
- When the Pack and Go
wizard opens, select a location to save the files to such
as a zip drive or a location on your hard drive.
- Please be sure that all the
check boxes are checked for including fonts and links to graphics.
Also be sure that the Create Links for Embedded Graphics
box is checked.
- Click the Finish button
and Publisher will create the following files in the location
you selected during step 2:
- unpack.exe, a program
used by the printer to unpack the compressed files;
- readme.txt, a file
that includes instructions on unpacking the compressed
files;
- packed01.puz,
the compressed file that includes the publication, linked
graphics and embedded fonts.
- packed01.pu1, a 1
KB file used by Publisher. (You do not have to do anything
with this file.)
- Bring the first three of these
files along with a printed sample to Quality Quickprint. If
they will not fit on a 3½ diskette, try using a zip
disk or burning a CD. You may also email these files to stan@qualityquickprint.com.
Please include printing instructions (quantity, paper, ink
color(s), and any post printing services needed like folding,
or numbering, etc.) in the body of the email along with instructions
on how we may contact you.
While this will
not guarantee problem free printing of your Microsoft Publisher
file, it will give you the best chance of having your Publisher
file printed. Failure to use this procedure does guarantee that
there will be problems with your Publisher file.
In order to
be able to successfully use your Pagemaker files, all graphics
files and fonts used in your publication must be included. Please
be aware that your fonts do have license restrictions on them
and may not be legally available for you to bring to us. In addition,
some graphic files may also be restricted in their use, particularly
those that are copyright or trademark protected. Please use only
fonts and graphics that may legally be transported to us for output.
Using the following procedures will ensure that all graphics and
fonts will be included.
- Once your document is finished,
please us the "Save for Service Provider"
plug-in, located in the "Utilities" menu
under "Plug-ins". The first step is to click
on the "Preflight pub" Button on the "Summary"
tab. The program will then check that your fonts and graphics
are okay to package for taking to your service provider. Be
aware, that it does not check license restrictions, copyright
or trademark violations. All it does is check that the fonts
and graphics used are available for packaging. If everything
is okay, you will be notified by green check mark boxes followed
by a message telling you that everything is okay. If there
are problems, you will be notified by red x boxes and a message
telling you that everything is not okay. You can check for
specific problems by clicking on the "Fonts"
tab for font problems and the "Links/OPI"
tab for graphic problems. Once you have fixed the problems
you are ready to package the publication. If there are problems
that you do not know how to fix, please call Quality Quickprint
at (386) 736-1353 for help resolving those issues.
- Your next step is to click on
the Package button in the bottom left corner of the
SFSP window. This will open another window allowing you to
navigate to where you want to save the publication, graphic
files and font files. We recommend that you create a new separate
folder to do this so that you can find everything in one place
to put on CD or zip disk or diskette. Also at the bottom of
this window are several check boxes that by default are unchecked.
There are two that need to be checked for us to successfully
use your publication file; "Copy fonts" and
"Update Publication Links" both need to be
checked. Once you have checked those boxes, you can click
the Save button and the program will copy the publication
file, all graphics files to the location you selected and
create a sub-folder call "Fonts" where it
will copy all the fonts used.
- Copy the publication file, graphics
files and font files to a CD, zip disk (100 MB only), or diskette.
Label that media with your name, telephone number, and any
other information that you want us to have and bring it to
Quality Quickprint for output.
Following these instructions should
get us what we need to print this file. Be aware that there are
other issues involved with graphics and fonts that may change
the output from what you expect. Once we have examined your file
we will discuss those issues with you. Thank you.
